It was easy for me to create a keyword search of Eagleton&#8217;s essay, and my summary was relatively clear as well. However, my abstract was a bit too long.<\/li><li> I wasn&#8217;t sure what claim I wanted to make about Eagleton&#8217;s work in my evaluation until after I had submitted my first draft to my professor, so my evaluation essay was filled with different claims rather than sticking to just one.<\/li><li>Visiting my professor during his office hours was very helpful, and I was able to craft a stronger thesis around Eagleton&#8217;s writing. I found my thesis: Eagleton&#8217;s final definition of literature influences the other definitions that are evaluated in the essay. I also shortened by abstract and expanded a bit on my summary to fully encapsulate the meaning of Eagleton&#8217;s essay.<\/li><li>My second draft was a lot clearer than my first, but still needed a bit more clarity. I used a few more examples in my evaluation of his writing, and added a few more details to my summary.<\/li><li>By my third draft of the paper, I felt ready to submit to my portfolio.
