The primary object of this project was to apply intergroup communication research and theory to real-world issues today. This project incorporated multiple steps throughout the semester, including a topic proposal, article selection, and annotated bibliography, with the infographic serving as the final product. For this project, I chose to focus on interracial families because I believe racial identities are a salient context of study, especially amid the growing population of multiracial individuals. Additionally, my research project targeted parents within interracial families, as it provides relevant information and tips for how parents can approach communication and dialogue across racial differences.
