This paper was to identify different displays of persuasion within the movie Catch me if you can. These interpersonal persuasion tactics include cognitive dissonance, three source attributes (ethos, pathos, logos) and framing. I had written this paper in 2021 for my persuasion class and class mates to analyze this film and identify different persuasion categories and explain evidence why a particular scene would correlate to different persuasive tactics. The intended audience for this project was my professor and peers. However, I could see possible fans of the film and musical enjoying the information.

Communication In Households With Lesbian parents

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to research communication within household with lesbian parents. This demographic was to explain how the media might betray these families differently than heterosexual lead household. This demographic was to also present similarities within heterosexual household, in comparison to lesbian led households this was my final product for family communication where we learn different types of kin, and ways of communicating between different households. I was inspired to do research on lesbian parents an inspiration to my own upbringing. I did this project back in 2021 to present for my family communications class to show that there is little representation of diverse families and more positive Studies involving the can of lesbian and other heterosexual households.

The Slap That Gave Up More Than What Was Needed.

In 2022 Chris rock slapped Will Smith across the face on live television during an award ceremony. This paper was intended to use Benoit’s Theory of Image Repair Discourse, identify, analyze, and evaluate the accused party’s image repair strategies. corporation, politician, celebrity, or athlete attempted to repair their image in the wake of an offensive act that threatened their reputation. I had written this paper, the summer after the incident happened between these two celebrities. I figured it would be a perfect tie in to our current public image repair attempt. I enjoyed writing this paper for my professor and close friends, and could see others being amused by this analysis paper.

The Adventures within the Radio

This project was intended to complete a mass communication research project and then present it as a poster. I chose to do a historical investigation . In this project I selected a particular type of media (e.g., a specific genre of magazine, music, film, television, or video game or a kind of website) and found out about its history. I chose radio because my interview subject grew up, listening to the radio with his large family over the years, and had a lot of experience in the changes that occurred through the radio. Created this poster in the spring of 2020 for my peers. This was a very important project to me because I got spend time with my grandfather and for that I treasure this project significantly. Now that my grandfather has passed, I am so gracious to have this recorded interview along with this poster in honor of his radio experience over the years.

The Super Bowl is Sponsored by Gender Roles

final project for the class is to create a poster based on we made media posts on identifying gender specific themes/patterns. After we have written and identified themes within advertisements surrounding specific events or products, the next step was to present these findings through a poster. My poster project presents advertisements from the Super Bowl within the year 2017. I want to watch 20 of these advertisements and identify patterns of gender specific connections between the product, and the actors along with the intended audience. This project was intended for my gender and media class with the targeting audience being classmates and maybe 2017 Super Bowl fans that are interested in gender specific advertisement media.

Advertisment persuasion reflection Blog

All advertisements have the goal to persuade audience members into believing in the actors that are presented within these advertisements, or believing in the quality of the product due to persuasion tactics. This assignment given to my class and I in 2021, was assigned to analyze persuasion tactics within advertisements, while giving explanation as to why I feel these tactics fall into the advertisement I chose to watch. The intended audience was to be the general public hence why the assignment is written within a blog response collection. I created each blog to follow the tactics. We were learning in the class while being inspired by some of the celebrity and products I was interested in.

Our Love. Our Choice. Our Community.- engagement promotion/persuasion ad.

For our final project, we were to promote some thing with involving community engagement. After creating some sort of ad for this promotion, I wrote a paper to explain the importance of my topic using persuasion tactics within my explanation. This was to create messages of persuasion in practice. This assignment was originally for my professor and classmates. However, it is public to whomever and mostly affects the Appleton, Wisconsin area and community. Appleton is my hometown in a community that I care about so I wanted to promote holiday shopping in local areas instead of well hi functioning and profiting stores. When you give back to the community, the community gives back to you.

Blind to Conflict

For my intimate relationships in media class in 2021, I had the privilege to work on a project on analyzing and connecting communication patterns between participants in the so-called study/reality TV show Love is Blind. The hosts of the show claim it is a study. However, there is no significant evidence that this “study” is socially significant or scientifically significant in anyway other than for viewerships. The show almost categorizes each couple through conflict communication in different subcategories dependent on their main issues/arguments they have with one another before the big wedding day. These categories involve financial issues, love affairs, Racial discriminations concerns, Family conflict, ect. I decided to choose this reality TV show surrounding intimate relationships in a short time frame because it had recently came out on Netflix and appealed to me to critically analyze the show and the participants communication styles for this project on intimate relationships within the media. My target audience are fans of the TV show, peers, and my professor.
