Projects as a Communication Student<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I am a student in Communications and Media Studies at St. Norbert College, and I collected a list of projects that outline my progressing knowledge in the field of Communications. Each project presents something different in how it has better formed my academics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Communication Theory: Capstone Project<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Learning Objective for this assignment was to create a series of infographics backed by research on our personally chosen topic, which in this case was exploring masculinity. I created this series because I was intrigued by an earlier class where I had to cooperate in making a service project attempting to better engage men in understanding and preventing gender-based violence. I grew an interest in defining what it means to be a Man because I believed it directly affects addressing the gender-based violence issue. So for this project, I targeted Men in hopes of exploring positive masculine ideals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political Communication: Campaign Report<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The objective of this assignment was to engage with real-time campaign events and distinguish the surrounding variables. My analysis addresses the components of, at the time, Senate Candidate Herschel Walker addressing comments made by Former President Barack Obama. I designed the report for the sole purpose of reflecting on campaign events and spreading awareness of our political environment in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Identity & Intergroup Communication: Infographic<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For this assignment, I was tasked to brainstorm an evidence-based infographic on a topic related to communicating across differences and submit it to my professor. So for this assignment, I chose to engage with the polarization of politics in the United States. This was created in the fall of 2021 relatively close to the 2020 presidential election where much of our society conflicts with each other based on their political affiliation. There was a clear indication of different groups of ideology and I sought to create an infographic spreading awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n

Interpersonal Communication: Scholarly Journal Assignment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For this assignment, my objective was to select a peer-reviewed journal article that examines communication and relationships on an interpersonal level and reflects on it to my professor through a series of guidelines. The guidelines helped me orient myself in researching an article and furthered my skills in reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective for this assignment was to choose a health campaign from a collection of options authored by certified health organizations. I was to submit a paper to my professor detailing a campaign and what I learned and which channels of communication from which the campaign utilizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this assignment, my objectives were to participate in research and reflect on tasks and how they were arranged, and submit it to my professor. The purpose of this assignment was to help me further my understanding of how research is conducted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this assignment, my objective was to engage in a communication theory, specifically Relational Dialectics Theory. It addresses the theory by presenting an article I found and presenting it to my class and facilitating a discussion. I used examples and discussion questions to facilitate a class discussion and further my understanding of how to cultivate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I submitted it to my professor after I completed analysis of how the example uses my chosen rhetoric term and how it is utilized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key takeaways from each of my selected projects prove how I developed my understanding of the social sciences.
