About me<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Michael Gesese-Elsenpeter. I’m a senior Communications and Media major at St. Norbert College. I also studied at Washington Media Institute (WMI) in Washington D.C., as a “study abroad” program during the final semester of my undergraduate education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am multilingual, aside from English, I’m able to speak three languages that originate from East Africa, Ethiopia. My language skills have given me opportunities professionally that otherwise I wouldn’t qualify for. I’m a proud first generation college student, my dream is to someday use the knowledge and skills I have acquired to better serve my community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my 4 years at St. Norbert College I’ve expanded my knowledge in many areas, especially communication and media studies. My one semester at WMI has also given me new insight by providing an opportunity to work hands on in the media world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last decade, the Internet has changed how news and media agencies produce content and communicate with audiences. This course guides students through the rapidly changing media landscape and explored the various types of digital writing that exist in a variety of platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this course, I selected a local, company to represent throughout the semester as my \u201cclient\u201d for the projects. I became familiar with the company\u2019s brand voice and target audience in order to create potential content for the organization throughout the semester. Using AP style, I was creatively guided to produce stories, press releases, and other content currently produced by media content agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
