Being a communications student at St. Norbert has been very important to me over the last four years. I have learned so much that can help me in the future. I have learned how to write many different types of news articles and PR releases. I have also learned about how communication works on a scientific level. These learning experiences have given me a broader understanding of communication that I can use going forward as I search for a career. I can apply what I’ve learned in media studies if I get into a writing career in some form. The internship I did with WJLA in Washington helped me get some hands-on experience with how the media works. I’m hoping that I will be able to pursue a similar job after I graduate. I would like to be a sports writer in some form. Either for a website or for a newspaper.
