My name is Lisa Lenell and I am a senior at St. Norbert College. My major is Communication and Media Studies but I specialize in Media Studies. Through the courses that I have been taken at St. Norbert, I have learned how people communicate and generate meaning through different contexts, channels, cultures, and media. Since I specialize in Media studies I have also learned about different techniques used within mass communication such as marketing, advertising, and targeting. This has impacted me in many ways since it made me realize how important communication is in our everyday life, both in person and online. The research I have engaged with have taught me a lot about gender and race in media. Also, media’s impact on people in todays society. After graduation, I hope to work with marketing.
