Emma Dodson

Hi! My name is Emma Dodson and I am Communication and Media Studies Major.  

For me, being a student of communication and media studies means that I have learned how to analyze research and theories, and relate them to everyday aspects of life and communication. Everything that I have learned has impacted me personally by allowing me to understand why people communicate in the ways they do and how to use my knowledge to effectively carry out a conversation in many different contexts. 

My concentration is communication, and the topics that I studied include, but are not limited to, research methods, nonverbals, intimate relationships, and conflict. Along with classes, my previous jobs and internship have helped me learn. One previous job helped me to learn about communication within company departments, and my pervious internship helped me learn more about communication with the public. 

After graduation I will be pursuing a job with the Clerk of Circuit Courts in Ozaukee County. There I will be dealing with case files in the courtroom and helping the public to open cases.
