Learning about Communication and Media studies has impacted my professional and personal life immensely. I am now equipped to use various technological mediums in a work setting, and I am able to adapt my communicative abilities to anyone and everyone. Personally, I have learned how to manage social media so that it does not interfere with my personal life. I have learned how to deal with conflict communication, and I have learned how to communicate in a time of crisis as well.
Initially, I was a Communication major with an emphasis in Media Studies. Because of that, I have taken various media classes that have bettered my understanding of the impact media can have. Later in my college career, I decided that emphasizing in Communication would be the most effective way to end my time here at St. Norbert College. With that being said, I was able to take some extremely rigorous communication classes that assisted me in understanding how we as human beings interact with one another.
Some various topics that I have studied over the past four years are Technology at work, Family Communication, Business and Professional Speaking, Communication and Mental Health, Principals of Mass Communication, and so much more. Some scholarly perspectives that I have engaged with during my time here have been critical scholarly research, along with social scientific research through the various research projects that I have completed.
After graduation, I hope to continue to utilize the skills and experiences that I have learned while obtaining my undergraduate degree in Communication. I have accepted a full-time position working at Schneider National as an Inside Seller post-grad. Some experiences that I have partaken in that have prepared me for my job outside of college include, my Social Media Marketing Internship through the St. Norbert College Athletics Department, along with the help that my professors have provided to me along the way.
