1. COME 324 (Persuasion) Artifact
In this project we were tasked with analyzing and creating a persuasive artifact. Because I have a hobby for video editing, I offered to create the artifact (video) that was based off of a Barbie "Imagine the Possibilities" campaign. I started by asking my group what women inspired them. From there, I compiled a list and grabbed clips of iconic moments and speeches and pieced it together to create this video. Fun fact: I re-edited this video to make it a general women's day social media post on my own page, and it ended up being posted by the school and three different teachers reached out to me to ask if they could show their 4th and 5th grade classes. If anything, it was further proof of the emotional/persuasive nature of the video.
2. COME 389 (Media Relations) Press Release
In media relations, we were tasked with choosing a local non-profit and developing media relations/advertising for the event. This consisted of a social media plan, developing a hand out, as well as a press release.
3. COME 252 (Writing for media) Broadcast Writing pieces
In writing for media, we were challenged to write under time constraints every day. This was to simulate the timely environment of a real news room. These are a few of the pieces I wrote in the class.
4. Journalism Podcast
Although I wouldn't consider this my greatest work with Podcasting, this project was done during my semester abroad in Ireland. We created a podcast to simulate a real radio production. I was paired with another student and we decided to make a short podcast on the erasmus/study abroad program at Mary Immaculate College.
