Philosophy Statement
When I decided to go to St. Norbert College I did not think I was going to graduate with a degree in Communication Media Studies, I was originally a Biology Major, but I then went on to take teaching and business classes. I learned that it was not exactly what I was looking for either, at that point in my life I was seconded guessing myself if college was the right fit for me. After talking with some faculty at St. Norbert College about whether or not I should drop-out or not I was told I needed to try Communications because I understand how to communicate with people well. That is when I found an instant love and passion for the major. I first completed a project about the history of Country music by doing an in-depth research project, about the genre of country music and how different genres and styles of music have stemmed from country music. I also created a scannable QR code that you can scan with your phone that was linked to a playlist of a variety of different songs and eras of country music. While I was conducting this research two passions were found, my love for country music and research. The last college project I conducted was a quantitative replication study, about Women's mental health and how certain hashtags or images influence a person's mental state of appearance of their own body image. I am a hard worker that is not afraid to ask questions when not entirely sure of what is being asked of me. I am also a dependable worker that completes tasks on time.
