My name is Maiah Duin and I am a Senior at St. Norbert College, graduating in the Spring of 2023. I am a Communication Media Studies major with a concentration in Communication, as well as a Psychology minor. Within this major, I have honed my oral and written communication skills and learned how to think creatively and problem-solve in a multitude of different situations. After graduation, I plan on pursuing a career in marketing and public relations, and the skills that I have learned in my classes have set me up for professional success in this field. As my time at SNC comes to a close, I want to use this portfolio to highlight a few of my favorite works and projects that I have created throughout the past four years. Some of my favorite topics to explore within the discipline revolve around social scientific research, including relationships, influencer culture, digital marketing, exploitation in the film industry, and social media and its effects on body image and self-esteem. Outside of the classroom, I have been a four-year student-athlete on the SNC Dance Team, Vice President of dance club, and a mentor for first-year college students.
