Learning Outcome 2 and 3:
This paper was completed for Communication Research Methods course in the Spring of 2019. The second learning outcome is to create messages appropriate to the audience, purpose, and context. The third learning outcome is to critically analyze messages. This paper fulfilled both learning outcomes. My group and I did a critical analysis of the lyrics and music video of the Black Eyes Peas song “BIG LOVE”. During the critical analysis of the song and video, I had to interpret and break down the messages within the lyrics based on evidence of repetition, rhyme, allusion, etc. Also, I had to relate the lyrics to the music video and how these two avenues of communication reinforced or hurt one another.
