COME 330: Intercultural Communication

Open-mindedness.

Intercultural Communication is the class that expands your palette on how global business is conducted, without offending another culture.

It’s impossible to know the ins and out of every native language and culture, but general do’s and don’ts are a great skill to learn.

We looked deeply into several cultures and their business concepts including German, Japanese, Chinese, etc.

What works in one culture may not apply to the next.

The key to intercultural communication is keeping an open mind to their business strategies and styles.

We looked at levels of ethnocentricity, high avoidance vs. low avoidance cultures, the difference in office settings, and much more.

The most important takeaway from the class is that communication varies across cultures.
