Description: In my independent study I was able to chose my path, guided by Dr. Glantz. We decided that my independent study would focus on the changing gender roles in media produced by Disney over the years. I focused on the Disney Classic films that been remade in the recent years since the newer film are coming out in more progressive times and should contain more progressive depictions of males and females. Throughout the semester I watched several Disney films and their remakes, I researched gender roles in media and Disney films, and, at the end of the semester, wrote a paper on my findings.
