Throughout my time at St. Norbert College, I have had a plethora of communication assignments that I had to create. Of the multitude of papers, presentations, and other homework assignments completed, I have selected eight different assignments that demonstrate my growth as a communication major as well as my ability to apply what I have learned at St. Norbert.

Below I have sorted the assignments provided based on how they demonstrate my abilities and understanding of Communication Theory. Some assignments may be found in multiple groups since they demonstrate multiple areas of my ability.

The first group of assignments show I am able to “interpret, evaluate, apply, and take part in communication scholarship.” These assignments are my Independent Study Final Paper (COME 490), Presentation Critique (COME 322), Dissemination Project (COME 352), and Oral History Paper (COME 328).

The second group of assignments show I am able to “select creative and appropriate methods for accomplishing communicative goals, adapt to the needs of the situation, and present messages in different modalities.” The assignments that demonstrate my ability are my Independent Study Final Paper (COME 490), Persuasive Presentation (COME 322), Presentation of Qualification (COME 322), Presentation Critique (COME 322), and Symposium Group Presentation (COME 222).

The final group of assignments show I am able to “identify meanings embedded in messages, recognize the influence of messages, engage in active listening, and/or enact mindful responses to messages.” The assignments that demonstrate this ability are my Independent Study Final Paper (COME 490), Image and Sound Essay (COME 467), Dissemination Project (COME 352), and Oral History Paper (COME 328).
